Welcome to our FastBreak Basketball Programs @ Nexus
We are very excited to be continuing our basketball programs @ Nexus in Fall 2023!
The FastBreak basketball program is split into 3 levels:
- Development -Beginner Programs
- Recreational -Intermediate / Once-a-week Programs
- Competitive -2-3 Times per week featuring League Play in the SPBL
Our weekly schedule is broken down as follows:
- Weekdays from 18:00-19:30 -Individual Skills Training by Grade Level (@ Nexus)
- Available for both competitive and recreational (intermediate) players
- Weekends:
- Development (Beginner) Programs -Saturday Mornings (@ Nexus)
- Recreational Program -Saturday 11:30-13:30 (@ Nexus)
- Competitive (Team) Practices & League Play -Saturday + Sunday (@ UWCE)

Development (Beginner) Programs
FUNDAMENTAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Instructional Practice
1 hour: fundamentals & skill development
Program emphasizes the basic fundamentals of basketball:
footwork, ball-handling, passing, shooting and lay-ups.
Basic contests and games are introduced to reinforce the fundamentals and add a level of fun.
Age: Kindergarten-Grade 2

"GIVE AND GO" INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUE
Instructional Practice + Game Play in 1 session
1 hour: fundamentals & skill development
30 minutes: game play
Intermediate basketball program using age appropriate basketballs and basket heights. Program emphasizes the basic fundamentals of basketball: footwork, ball-handling, passing, shooting and lay-ups. Give & Go program also features 30 minutes of gameplay where we introduce the rules and structure of the 5x5 game.

Practice & Play Program
Skill Training + Internal League Play
1 hour: fundamentals skill development
1 hour: competitive league play
Our Practice & Play program is designed as a "pre-competitive" program for players moving up from our Development Programs and for players wanting to experience both skill acquisition and gameplay in a once-a-week program. Sessions feature 1 hour of skills training followed by an internal league of 3x3 gameplay, with league standings and end-of-season awards.

All new players receive a free club t-shirt and reversible practice jersey as part of the registration fee.
Game uniforms ($60) to be purchased directly from FastBreak after assessments.

10&U Age Group (Born 2013-2015)
12&U Age Group (Born 2011-2012)
14&U Age Group (Born 2009-2010)
16&U Age Group (Born 2007-2008)
18&U Age Group (Born 2004-2006)
Players must attend their Saturday Team Practice to qualify for League Play on Sundays in the SPBL.

Division 1 players from each age group will practice with the older age group at the later time (i.e. 12&U D1 boys will practice from 10:30-12:30 with 14&U Boys, 14&U D1 Girls will practice from 12:30-14:30 with 16&U Girls)

2 x per week: Sat. + Sun. @ UWCE =$2250 (14 x 2 hr Sat. practices & 12 x Sun. games)
